Detroit Department of Health and Wellness Promotion provides children’s blood lead testing, medical and environmental case management, lead education, risk assessments and code enforcement. (313) 876-4212

Detroit Housing Department gives information about affordable, high quality housing in stable neighborhoods.  (313) 877-8000.  Information and applications for admission to public housing may be obtained at 1301 E. Jefferson , Detroit, Michigan 48207 and by calling (313) 877-8730 between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Detroit Planning and Development

Citywide Lead Hazard Reduction Program The City Wide Lead Hazard Reduction Program will reduce lead-based paint hazards and the conditions that contribute to the hazards, in single-family, owner-occupied properties. Properties eligible for funding assistance include those where a pregnant woman and children under six years of age live. Properties where children under six regularly visit at least six hours per week are also eligible for funding. For more information, please see their brochure.

CHILD-HELP Lead Hazard Reduction Program The CHILD-HELP Lead Hazard Reduction Program provides funding to remediate lead hazards in rental properties  where a pregnant woman or children under six years of age reside. The grant is also available for vacant units that will be marketed to a low-income family. For more information, please see their brochure
