you may qualify for CLEARCorps services!
We offer several programs to help people
reduce the risk of lead poisoning in their homes.
Family Action Plans to reduce the possibility of lead
exposure in your home.
- Assessment of possible lead hazards
- One on One in home counseling to determine the best
solution for your family
- In home education about lead poisoning and
prevention
- Referral into our Relocation program or MDCH funded
lead abatement program
Lead Abatement to remove lead hazards, which includes:
- Risk Assessment of lead hazards
- $8,000 grant for owner occupied houses (owner must
contribute remainder of costs)
- $4,000 grant for rental properties (owner must
contribute remainder of costs)
- Low interest loans available
Other resources for ALL parents include:
Renovation, Repair and Painting Trainings (previously
Lead Safe Work Practices) provide education
on how to do safe home renovations without exposing children to
harmful lead dust. If you are planning to perform
any type of renovation, repair, or painting in a home built
before 1978, you should take this course before hand. You
are required by law to take to course if performing work for pay
or on a rental property. For more information visit the

Lead Addressed Housing Registry a website listing of all
rental properties and day care homes that have had a lead
inspection or abatement. If you abate the
lead hazards in your rental property, it will be listed on this
website, which is used as a resource for families to identify
lead safe housing.
