10 Tips for Preventing Lead Poisoning |
- Wet mop twice a week.
- Wash children’s hands, toys,
pacifiers, and bottles often.
- Get all children under the age of 6 tested for
lead.
- Don't let children eat paint chips
or pick at peeling paint.
- Take your shoes off before

bare dirt or soil. Cover soil with grass, mulch
or bushes.
- Feed your children a diet rich in
calcium and iron.
- Always use cold tap water.

when doing work on homes.

EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule |
Attention all landlords, home owners, and contractors!!
As of April 22, 2010,
the EPA Renovation, Repair, and Painting Rule will go
into effect. This rule regulates all renovation,
repair and painting activities that disturbs paint in homes
constructed before 1978 and in child occupied facilities such as
day care centers, schools, etc. Before you do any work on a home built
before 1978, make sure you know how to prevent lead
poisoning.
